Buzzard Field Commendation
From: Scott Farmerey
Sent: 18 July 2007 10:42
Company: PSN
Hi
I'm a production technician on the Buzzard platform and last trip I sent in a note about how well the PSL crew had carried out the task of pressure testing our B13 well associated pipework. The crew I worked with were Jonathon (Jock) Scott, Steve McRae and Paul Gray. The lads did a great job and were a credit to themselves and PSL and it was a pleasure working with them. I'm back on board at the moment and Jock and Paul are here again too. Jock came to thank me for sending my comments in but said he hadn't actually seen them as they had been deleted before he had a chance to read them. So I'm happily re-sending my comments as I stand by all I said and would be very happy to work with these lads again any time.
Regards
Scott Farmerey

All
I am pleased to advise that on Saturday morning we achieved first oil from the Brenda field. The three wells that are open are presently producing in excess of 20,000bbls per day.
A lot of people have put in a lot of effort in helping the project achieve this milestone and for that I extend my sincere thanks to you all.
Achievement of first oil from the Brenda field is a significant milestone and one in which we can all be proud. Please accept my thanks and pass this on to others who have assisted us in making this possible.
Many thanks

Subject: PSL Performance on Shah Deniz Alpha
Hi Tom
I just wanted to drop you a quick note on the performance of the PSL Team who have been working on Shah Deniz Alpha over the last few months or so.
We have been working through an extremely busy period trying to reach a point where we had sustained production from our new wells. We would not have achieved the significant milestones that we have without the contributions made by the PSL Team. Their commitment, organisation and professionalism has been excellent allowing us all to respond efficiently and effectively to the changing situations we have experienced. They have been a credit to your company and I cannot thank them enough for the assistance they have given myself and everybody else on Shah Deniz Alpha.
I am sure the only time you normally get feedback about your teams is when something bad happens so I wanted to take the opportunity to recognise their performance, it has been very significant for us and I look forward to continue to work with them.
Kind regards,
Ian

Subject: Merganser 1st Gas - Thank You
Dear Merganser Project Team,
Thank you.
Yesterday at 17:00 production from the Merganser Field commenced to the Shearwater platform. This has been a very challenging project due to the subsurface uncertainties of the field, demanding well design, the commercial complexities associated with the development and the tight contractor market for construction.
The West well encountered reservoir properties which were within, and towards the upper end of, the pre-drill uncertainty ranges, and the well produced at constrained rates of 59 MMscf/d gas during the well test and clean up, giving encouraging indications of well productivity. The well is producing according to expectations.
The first Shell subsea installation of a Wet Gas Meter has been successful. The meter is working as planned.
The project was a few months late from the GIP planned 1st gas date of October 2006. However, bear in mind that we still managed to accelerate production from the originally planned April 2007 to December 2006, and this without any serious injuries to people. You should be proud of this achievement.
Thank you very much for all your support over the last year in achieving this important target.
I am sure that I have forgotten a few people in the distribution list, please forward to those that have provided support to the project.
With kind regards,
Alvaro Belloso

From all of the guys onboard the Constructor, we would like to convey a genuine THANK YOU for a job well done to all of the PSL personnel involved in the Dalia umbilical Installation. Despite all of the difficulties that were encountered (and there were quite a few) during the installation of the Dalia umbilical’s, the job was completed safely.
If it weren't for the diligence, professionalism, good team spirit and often patience & good humour from the PSL personnel, it is unlikely that the job would have ran as successfully as it did.
Best wishes for the future.

Rong Doi Development Project, Offshore Nitrogen/ Helium Leak Test
During the period of Nitrogen Helium Leak Testing of process piping on the Rong Doi Platform Vietnam, the PSL crew on a whole I found to be professional in their approach to work, knowledgeable in their duties and exceedingly helpful.
Their attitude was friendly and very obliging, understanding, helpful and certainly a pleasure to work with.
The management and supervision of PSL, must be proud of the team that undertook the testing services on our platform. The plant and equipment was reliable and performed without any interruption to the testing programme.

These comments are specific to the following PSL Personnel: Jonathan Scott, John Raye, Walter Whiteman, Andy Simpson and Iain Reid.
I would like to comment on how the attitude, dedication and efficiency of the aforementioned have contributed to an extremely high output of success. These individuals were able to slot straight into a safe working team with the Ops crew and because of this we were all able to progress through a large leak testing plan in the shortest time available. I was impressed at the understanding that maximised flexibility with minimal fuss and the attitude of these guys and the need for safe operators at all times.

Subsea 7 - Baobab Completion
To All aboard the Seisranger, to those who sailed in her (well, for this project anyway!) and those who supported her in any way.
What can I say…WELL DONE and THANKS for what YOU have achieved.
You have taken the boat down to support Subsea7's first installation project in West Africa, have successfully completed that scope and more to support the projects ever changing needs, extending the demands on the team at times beyond the reasonable!!! A lot of activities and the climate have been new to many of you and to the vessel. I'm not sure we could have thrown much more at you…..!?
All this, and the most important achievement is the impeccable safety record.
Undoubtedly, this has not gone unnoticed in the industry, and has promoted the marketability of the vessel and Subsea7 as a whole, in the region.
Please would you be so kind to onpass this message of thanks to other deserving souls!
Again, many thanks and well done.

Apache - FC3-1 Success
Before it all disappears in the mists of time I would like to thank everyone involved in the coil tubing gas lift operation on FC3-1. For the best part of two months over ninety nitrogen tanks were filled transported to the platform the liquid converted to gas, the Well brought into production the tanks returned to the beach for refill & the cycle restarted. At some points during the gas lift the Well was producing close to 3000bpd dry oil & twenty seven nitrogen tanks were being actively used whether they were being filled emptied or transported. The objective of the operation was to bring the Well back into production as it had stopped flowing due to sand production. The normal way to complete this intervention would have been to clean out the Well using coil tubing pumping gel sweeps while assisted by the shallow gas lift system.
Due to the level of activity on the platform we were unable to get the necessary equipment in place to carry this out. We did however have a nitrogen converter & BOP deck coil spread onboard. We decided to use this to gas lift the Well using the produced fluids to carry the sand to surface.
This has been successful the operation was completed on Saturday the 23rd April since then the Well has been flowing using SGL only. The whole operation has been carried out safely with no incidents or accidents throughout. The first Well tests post coil gas lift showed the Well producing 700bpd dry oil, latest Well indicates 872bpd dry oil with 10lbs of sand per 1000bbls total fluids produced. Well done & thank you to everyone involved. The main objective was achieved and the job made Apache money. Gavin Cooper - Well Operations Engineer

Aker Kvaerner - Janice Shutdown
Thank you to PSL (both on & offshore teams) for their contribution to the recent successful Janice Shutdown. The feedback from offshore has been very positive from both KMG Ops. & our own AK Construction team. The professional manner in which the Leak Testing & Bolt Torquing was carried out by the same PSL personnel was seen as being a great success & is definitely the approach we'd like to adopt in the future. The PSL team you had offshore were all self motivated & were a great asset to our Construction Supervisor. If you are interested in lessons learnt, may i be up front and suggest that B.A training for all your personnel might be advantageous as we had to put several people with Lee during some tasks as most companies now insist on formal B.A training, if this equipment is to be used on the work face.

Conoco Philips would like to extend thanks and gratitude to you and your team for a job very well done. The flooding, cleaning and gauging of the Bayu Undan Export Pipeline was completed on time and with no reported incidents.
This is a major achievement since the operation presented a number of challenges due to the environmentally sensitive work location and the extreme tidal patterns that hindered seawater extraction. I'm delighted to say that the engineering behind the water winning solution was sound and the water winning system worked impressively well. In addition, the many audits and readiness checks that were performed at Wickham Point (not only by our own HSEQ delegates, but also by local Authorities and Government Institutions) revealed that your site team performed to an incredibly high and professional standard.

BP - Completion of the 1F14 Single Well Tracer Test
The testing programme which will be completed today has I am pleased to say been a great success in terms of both HSE and project delivery.
PSL provided the pumping services on F site to inject the fluids and also to heat the fluids at the Rail Terminal again a lot of work to keep the equipment running smoothly a special thanks here to Mark Clews & Tom Carlyle who kept the Hot Washer unit running. The whole local PSL team with support from Aberdeen showed great safety behaviours during the job.
Permit issue & control was good with Risk Assessments carried out and managed well by Dave Burton & Scott McGregor at the Rail Terminal.
Accountable for overall safety leadership on site were the Well Service Supervisors in particular Lindsay Rennie who led this project on site with support from Richard O' Halleron & Keith Glen.
The interim reports from the first 3 test have shown good results and have exceeded our expectations although the full benefits will determined when all the results are in this will be key in determining if the full project goes ahead for the long term future of Wytch Farm
I would therefore like to thank all the people named above and everybody else who has been involved in this project from Clare in the lab who provided support for Chemical Tracer Inc (specialist analysis) to Tim Beaumont and the guys pumping fluid on site every day in all weathers to make this a success.

It was a difficult time but your people acquitted themselves in a professional manner at all times and got the Job Done most importantly safely and to specifications/requirements .
Special mention goes to your supervisor B Somers who in particular worked above and beyond the call of duty on the project.
In the future any work on a large scale I am involved with which requires your companies services I will be asking if he is available as I would be confident that the job would be in safe hands at site level if he was overseeing it.

The experience of the crew was excellent. They arrived with a refreshing attitude towards all. Showing a positive approach to carrying out the operation both safely and efficiently, during the operation all went smoothly, time was taken to ensure that no unforeseen situations were encountered. Aker Kvaerner - AH001: 2 Years LTI Free
As of 10th October 2005 the AH001 achieved 731 days without an LTI. Congratulations to all concerned on this brilliant achievement.
It is great to be able to report that no one on the project has suffered major injury as a result of working there over the past 2 years. This is testament to the commitment and professionalism shown by all who work there regularly, be it whether employed by PSL or others.
The culture on the installation has grown over time to become the key driving force in the achievement and reflects the participation of everyone in the caring, team based approach evident to all. Each individual who contributes to this should be proud to be a part of it. Indeed, from a personal point of view, it makes me proud to be able to say that I am associated with an operation which demonstrates this culture and which every visitor to the installation I have met chooses to make comment on.
Of course our commitment should never waver. We must remain vigilant and continue our efforts if each person is still to come and go in safety. I am confident this will be the case.
Well done

Talisman - Strength Test Highlander 4" Line from Tartan Platform
I would like to bring your attention to work carried out by PSL on the Tartan platform on the 22nd September – 6th October. The job involved flushing and strength testing a 4” Utilities pipeline running from Tartan to the Highlander subsea template. We plan to convert this line to supply injection water to a specific well on the Highlander template to supplement reservoir pressure and so increase oil production from the field. The strength test forms a key part of the DTI change of use submission.
In particular I would like to mention Willie Marandola, PSL Site Supervisor, who lead the job throughout. During this time PSL were onboard, the platform was extremely busy with multiple tasks and work fronts. Willie ensured the PSL job progressed in the midst of th activity and liaised with the platform where required to keep on schedule. He was pro-active in suggesting alterative lay down areas for PSL kit when it became apparent the PSL job would be delayed by Skip Deck space constraints. Willie’s attitude and willingness to take ownership of his job helped the platform through a busy period as well as maintaining the task objectives. Willie also liaised with the DSV Alliance regarding barrier tests on certain valves and fitting of the blank flange at the end of the pipeline (which formed the strength test barrier): again this was accomplished without issue.
In addition, Jon Whyte, PSL Project Engineer, pulled the job together from beginning to end and ensured the work pack and technical changes were handled properly. Jon’s patience in dealing with several rounds of Talisman work pack comments and a continuously moving mobilization date was very helpful. It is difficult to organize manpower and equipment when the schedule is fluid, but Jon was successful in doing both.
It is pleasing to report the flush and strength test in the 4” line were successful. However, if the result had been a failed test, in my opinion it would not have taken the shine off of PSL’s performance in this project.
I look forward to PSL returning on board to conduct the pre-subsea construction flush and post-subsea construction pressure test.
