Oil and gas services specialist PSL Energy Services has won a six-figure contract to work on one of the UK's new generation of gas-storage facilities.
Star Energy's Humbly Grove site in Hampshire is being upgraded as part of a project which links a 17-mile pipeline from the onshore field to the national gas-transmission system at Andover.
Portlethen-based PSL has been commissioned to supply coiled-tubing facilities and nitrogen services for the Star project and the job will be run and staffed from its Great Yarmouth base. The work is worth more than £250,000.
PSL managing director Doug Duguid said: "We are continuing to build on our reputation for providing first-class, cost-effective well services, to a wide range of UK and international clients. This latest contract win is testimony to the versatility of our workforce and our investment in new equipment and I am delighted that all the hard work put in by our Great Yarmouth team over the past year is bringing rewards."
Meanwhile PSL has received a seal of approval from the Scottish Qualifications Agency for its in-house training and competency programmes.
Its status as an SQA Approved Centre has been renewed, allowing it to administer qualifications in well services.
