The Aberdeen-based oil and gas services specialist now joins an exclusive band of fewer than ten cutting-edge companies which have gained approval from OPITO for Competency Management Systems.
The OPITO approval covers PSL’s Aberdeen headquarters and Great Yarmouth base.
The company plan to roll out the CMS to international locations including Azerbaijan, Norway, Singapore, the Middle East and Algeria.
PSL’s Human Resources Director, Derek Paterson, said: “We believe strongly in placing competence and safety at the core of our business and are delighted that OPITO have recognised this by granting approval for our Competency Management System."
“This approach brings many benefits to our day-to-day operations, the most important of which is having a motivated staff who are working safely and efficiently and to the highest industry standards."
“This transparency also gives our clients confidence that we have a workforce and culture which embraces an embedded competence system. We understand that in order to continue to deliver quality of service to clients the excellence of our workforce is paramount and this is an extension of our existing high levels of competency."
“We will continue to invest in this programme and ensure that our business can meet the required CMS standards in all of PSL’s international locations.”
David Doig, Chief Executive of OPITO said: “People are the key to business success. It’s clear from our robust measurement of the PSL competence system that the management recognise the value a safe and competent workforce brings to the organisation. This system will enable PSL to grow and develop their people as they grow and develop their business. I congratulate them on receiving the OPITO Approval and wish them well for the future”.
